Meet the team

We caught up with our recruitment manager Lisa to find out a bit more about her day to day role and how she unwinds when she's not on the clock. Lisa will be one of the first point of contacts when you are applying for one of our roles and she will guide you through our pre-employment process.

Please tell us your role at First Blue and how long you have been with us:

Hi, I'm Lisa Birch and I am the recruitment manager at First Blue. I joined the team in June 2020 so have currently been in post for around 4 1/2 months.

You're still in the early days but what has been your favourite part of working for First Blue to date:

I find working for First Blue great, I find the senior management very easy to talk to and really like the ethos and culture of the company. I enjoy my job role and being left to get on and do it with support their if required.

I especially enjoy speaking to new potential candidates building a rapport  and watching them progress with First Blue once they have been offered a role. All of the team have been welcoming and I have good relationship with those who I have had the pleasure to meet so far. I look forward to putting more faces to the name and meeting the rest of the team in the near future.

As I have said to those who know me I am always at the end of the phone should you need to speak to me or have any concerns. If you share our values and are keen to make a difference to young peoples lives and looking for a new beginning please get in touch for more information.

You've joined the team during a global pandemic, how has your role changed during lockdown/covid:

At the start of covid I was made redundant from my previous company as office manager  which was hard as I built my own team and left them behind, but I don’t look back and love the job I am now in. Recruitment is my passion having done this role for 18 years previously in various other sectors.

My role is home based due to Covid, attending meetings a various time.  I have 2 small children aged 3 and 9 and starting a new job during lockdown with both children at home was challenging. Every day is different and a new challenge. I am looking forward to my future with First Blue, progressing within my role whilst watching other staff grow and progress within the company too.

Aside from working at First Blue, what are your hobbies and interests when at home:

Horse riding, the gym, spending time my with my family and friends.

For anyone thinking of applying for a role with First Blue what is the best way to get in touch with you:

The best days to catch me are during Monday – Friday but feel free to contact me on a weekend should you need to. I will generally take calls at any time. Being in the role of recruitment I would like to think I am sociable and will always call you back if the call is missed. I am here as a point of contact should you have any other concerns or even a general enquiry.

Thank you Lisa, it's great to have you on board at First Blue. If you are reading this thinking you are ready for a change in career, a new role or a progression up the career ladder in a new and supportive company Lisa will be on hand to help and answer any questions you might have prior to applying. Once you've submitted your application or even prior to doing so, why not email Lisa to answer any questions you might have on careers@firstblue.co.uk.
