Food Parcels for Street Food - Burton

Street Food is a not-for-profit organisation based in Burton on Trent. They are a dedicated group of volunteers from the Buton area who share a passion for helping the homeless and those in need. 

They are keen to link in with other local agencies and organisations in a bid to unite, giving homeless and those in need more opportunities to access vital services available to them. 

First Blue Healthcare had the pleasure of our young people getting involved for Street Food. Our young people were given a budget and asked if they could go and purchase items that they thought those in need would require, they did not disapoint! Each one from each house went shopping and enjoyed choosing out items such as Ham, Bread, cheese, milk, lots of nice treats and useful everyday items. They then carefully seperated these items in to individual bags making sure that lots of thought was put into each one. 

The car was fully loaded with all the food parcels from the different houses and tansported to Andrea at Street wise, she was suprised by the amount of food being donated. Andrea explained that the food parcels are handed out in order of priority. At the moment Street Food is helping to support 12 high priority young people, who have been given temporary accomdation due to Covid-19. Andrea helps many who need it including volunteering at a local soup kitchen and raising awareness for the charity, she says that whenever there are difficulties they can always rely on the local community to pull together and support. 

Street wise rely solely on the generousity of the public and organisations like First Blue Healthcare to continue the fantastic work they do for the homeless. 

We hope that the individuals who recieved our food parcels enjoy them as much as our young people enjoyed making them!
